Keynote & Speaker Mr Jeff Zweig, Chief Guru: Web Guru Asia (KL, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo & Bangkok)

Jeff is Chief Guru of Web Guru Asia, an award winning Internet consulting firm specialising in online branding, interactive marketing and web solutions development. He is responsible for all of Web Guru Asia’s activities in Southeast Asia. Jeff has been instrumental in growing Web Guru Asia from a two-man operation based solely in Kuala Lumpur to a more than 20-person firm with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Bangkok that has now done work for more than 20 of the world’s most recognisable brands. In Malaysia, Web Guru Asia have done online branding and Internet marketing work for clients such as Malaysia Airlines, YTL, Sepang Formula One, AOL Time Warner, Carlsberg, KLIA, Pfizer and the Malaysian Government.

Prior to working with Web Guru Asia, Jeff worked eight years as a systems integration consultant with Accenture (formally Andersen Consulting).


Mr Jasdev Gill, Legal Counsel: Messrs Ram Rais & Partners (KL, Malaysia)

Jasdev holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London. He is admitted to the Bar in Malaysia and has had vast experience in civil litigation matters ranging from Banking, Property Law, Commercial Law and all aspects of Intellectual Property rights enforcement including trade-mark, copyright, patent and industrial design infringement. Jasdev also works closely with the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs in Malaysia to enforce the intellectual property rights of his clients.

In addition to civil litigation, Jasdev also provides consultation services to organisations concerned with their intellectual property rights. His other portfolios include franchise registration, licensing, computer information technology as well as company secretarial services. He is an active member of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) as well as Asean Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).


Ms Rosie Hong, Managing Director: Rapp Collins (M) Sdn Bhd (KL, Malaysia)

As Managing Director of Rapp Collins, Rosie is the drive force behind the agency and is instrumental in setting up the CRM agency as part of the DDB Group’s network in Malaysia. Under her leadership, Rapp Collins has grown from strength to strength over the last two years into a full-fledged agency with a diverse portfolio of blue-chip clients.

Rosie is a sharp and experienced marketer as well as relationship marketing / CRM expert with more than 13 years experience in the industry.

Prior to joining the group, she was with another leading CRM agency in Malaysia overseeing several key multinational accounts. She was also previously attached to DHL Express Worldwide Services as the Regional Marketing Manager, and Paramount Corporation. Rosie holds a MBA in Strategic Marketing from Stirling University, United Kingdom.


Mr Greg Paull, Partner: R3 Asia Pacific

Greg has 18 years close to 20 years agency experience, most of it in the Asian region, with brand experience on Nokia, Audi, HP, Microsoft and American Express. Most recently, he was Asia Pacific head of the Interpublic agency, DraftWorldwide. In the last three years, Greg has evaluated close to 100 agencies across the region for partnership and acquisitions. Greg is currently a principal at R3 Asia Pacific, the Asian arm of a global consulting group that has offices and support staff in Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Malaysia and works throughout the region through local partners. R3 has ongoing alliance with the leading business and marketing magazines in the region to provide content on Agency Rankings, New Business Performance locally and regionally, and other ongoing issues affecting agency compensation.


Mr Sushil Chatterji, Director & Principal Consultant: Edutech Enterprises (Singapore)

Sushil has more than 7 years consulting experience in Enterprise Architecture, Strategic IT Planning, and Operations Excellence. The thrust of his consultancy services is to enable organisations to integrate process, knowledge, technology and change approaches for continuous business improvement and enhanced organisational performance. In 1999-2000, Sushil was a consultant to the Singapore Public Sector IT MasterPlan project. His vast 20 year experience in the IT industry has led him to develop a unified model of IT Governance encompassing Enterprise Architecture, Balanced IT Scorecard, the COBIT control framework, and IT Portfolio Management.

Sushil has worked with client organisations such as Citibank, Singapore Airlines, National Computer Board/Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Defence, Defence Science Technology Agency, DBS Bank, Singapore Healthcare Services, National Healthcare Group, National Computer Systems, DRB-Hicom and Overseas Union Bank Limited. Sushil was a former Centre Director of the Economic Development Board’s Boston office.


Mr Paul Roebuck, Strategic Planning Director: Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia

Paul is a native of England, but has rarely spent any time there during his professional career. Having started his career at Saatchi & Saatchi London some years ago, he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi Cape Town, South Africa where he took responsibility for the GUINNESS business across sub-saharan Africa. After some time spent dodging exploding munitions dumps in Lagos, Nigeria and volcanic lava flows in Cameroon, Paul returned briefly to England, but continued to spend the majority of his time in East and West Africa. In 2002, Paul made the move to Asia, taking up the position of Strategic Planning Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia. He is a passionate advocate of the power of ideas to transform businesses and brands, and believes that the biggest challenge facing brands today is escaping the commodity trap and providing a sustainable point of differentiation in a world of functional product parity. Paul believes that harnessing the power of ideas to inspire relationships between consumers and brands that deliver loyalty beyond reason is the only way brands can evolve to survive.


Speaker & Workshop Leader (B): Mr Lawrence Chong, Chief Executive Officer: ACIVAR Brand Consultants (Singapore)

Lawrence is the Principal Founder and CEO of Acivar Brand Consultants. Acivar specializes in helping Asian firms in implementing business strategies and brand positioning. By focusing on the medium and small Asian enterprises (SMAEs), Acivar is able to better at understanding these firms’ needs. Lawrence loves the challenge of nurturing; helping companies to grow in the competitive business environment, and seeing them outshine the market leaders. His passion is to assist visionary leaders in the region to build large Institutional Brands. Therefore, a lot of his time is spent on giving seminars and providing workshops on how small Asian businesses can tap into their latent potential and join the ranks of the outstanding brands.

Currently, Lawrence is holding a one-year term as the chairperson of the Future Brand Delivery Group, an R&D community that gathers professionals from the IT, Business Management, HR and Customer Relation sectors. The group constantly reviews & provides analysis on how complementary technologies can be used to effectively help Asian brands grow exponentially. Lawrence is also the EXCO member of the Designers Association of Singapore DAS, which is actively involved with the various ministries and government agencies such as MITA, SPRING, IE Singapore and EDB in enhancing and promoting the value of branding and design to the local industries in Singapore.


Workshop Leader (A): Ms Shauna Li Roolvink, Founder & Managing Director: BrandHub (Singapore)

Shauna is the founder and Managing Director of BrandHub, a brand consultancy dedicated to creating and building Leader Brands in Asia. She has over 10 years of experience in brand strategy, business strategy, market research, customer experience, and marketing strategy and planning in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to setting up BrandHub, Shauna was the lead brand strategies for the re-branding of Singapore Inc., a project she took on as a freelance consultant at another brand consultancy. As an Associate Director of Brand Strategy at Interbrand, Shauna founded and managed the first Brand Strategy practice in Asia. She created the Brand Strategy Blueprint for many leading Asian brands including Osim, StarHub, and Brand’s. She also worked with multinational clients such as Motorola, DuPont, and GM in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. Shauna honed her strategy development capabilities at A.T. Kearney where she managed diverse strategy engagements for clients such as GM, Deere, ARCO, Chugai Pharmaceutical, and Pacific Dunlop throughout the Asia Pacific region.

She started her career as an Account Executive at Leo Burnett. Her clients included Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris, United Airlines, Chase, and HP. Shauna is the creator and author of the Brand Leadership Matrix™ - a framework to analyze brand lifecycle and investment strategies. She contributes brand related articles regularly to The Edge Magazine as well as other leading business and marketing journals in Asia. She is also a frequent speaker at branding and marketing conferences. She obtained her MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and a BS in Business Administration from USC.
