Thomas is Director of the Games and Entertainment - Lifestyle & Education
and also head of the Digital Exchange initiative at the IDA. He oversees the team
charged with developing the Games cluster, and Singapore's Digital Exchange -
the digital processing, management, and distribution of digital content and services
through Singapore. He spear-heads various programmes to develop Singapore to become
a vibrant Digital Ecosystem, including segments such as Digital Cinema and Interactive
Entertainment.
Thomas graduated from the University of Singapore in 1991. His specialization
includes project management, strategic planning, product marketing, scenario modeling
and go-to-market assessment. Technical and functional skills include wireless
technology, assessment of emerging technologies, computer based training and instructional
design. Whilst in Gartner Consulting, he received the Atlas Award for outstanding
contribution in 2001, and the Winners Circle for recognitions of achievements
in 2000. In SingTel Mobile, he received the Outstanding Contribution award in
1997.

Irene has served as Vice President - Asia of Electronic Arts (EA) since
July 1998. Prior to joining EA, she served as the Director of Business Development
and Director of Operations of Electronic Arts Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Electronic
Arts, Irene served as Product Marketing Manager at Creative Technology Ltd in
Singapore. Irene holds a B.Eng. degree from the National University of Singapore.
Electronic Arts is the world's leading independent developer and publisher of
interactive entertainment software for advanced entertainment systems such as
the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the PlayStation®, Xbox™ video
game console from Microsoft, the Nintendo GameCube™ and the Game Boy® Advance

Mr Eric Kwun, Business Planning Manager - Strategic Planning Div: Actoz
Soft Co., Ltd (Seoul, South Korea)
Eric is a Business Planning Manager of Actoz Soft,a Korean Online Game developer
and publisher company. Joining Actoz Soft's Overseas Business Division in year
2002, he has concluded an extending contract for the European service of The Legend
of Mir2 and has played key role in concluding major contracts for launching ACOTZ
SOFTs games in Japan, Thailand and Taiwan. Eric now serves in Strategic Planning
Division, focusing on the company's strategic planning and overseas IR.

& Tann's iTec Practice Group, Kok-Keng previously headed the intellectual property
practice group in an international law firm. For over a decade, Kok-Keng has handled
a broad range of work including intellectual property, electronic commerce, information
technology, licensing, employment and computer crime issues. He has also appeared
as counsel in several litigation cases involving intellectual property, technology,
e-commerce, internet-related and commercial disputes. His practice involves both
contentious as well as non-contentious work, giving him critical insights into
key issues that face clients. He acts for various owners of famous trade marks,
copyright licensing organisations, major software and hardware manufacturers,
providers of electronic commerce and internet services, banking institutions,
media related gaming and telecommunications companies.
Kok-Keng is a member of intellectual property organisations like the International
Trade Mark Association, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association and the ASEAN Intellectual
Property Association. He was a member of the sub-committee tasked by the Infocomm
Development Authority of Singapore to review the Electronic Transactions Act in
May 2000, and chairs the Enforcement Sub-Committee of the Intellectual Property
Committee of the Law Society of Singapore. He has been recognised by AsiaLaw Profiles
2001 as a leading lawyer in his field.

Yeo Siang-Tiong, Strategic Business Development Manager: Hewlett-Packard

Siang-Tiong
is the Strategic Business Development Manager at Hewlett-Packard Singapore. He
is responsible for championing HP's interest on Singapore's IT agenda and roadmap.
He also drives and defines new markets and industry wide programs with the policy
makers. In the past 10 years with Hewlett-Packard, Siang Tiong has held several
sales and technical positions. He has also led the coverage of strategic accounts
in the financial sector and defence and homeland security sector. Siang Tiong
holds a B.Eng (Elect.) from the University of Singapore and a dip. B.A.

Ms Dawn Teh, Regional Account Director: Activate

Dawn is an experienced digital marketing consultant who
helps brand-owners increase their brand value and return of investment through
revolutionary marketainment concepts. Some of these clients include Centrepoint
Properties, DHL, Motorola, Pfizer Singapore and Singtel Mobile, among others.
Dawn oversees Activate’s contents business, which provides original games and
infotainment applications that enriches the lives of next-generation consumers.
Some of these contents and applications are integrated with brand-owners’ marketing
strategies, enabling creative brand building through entertainment. Dawn works

Asst Professor Adrian Cheok, Principal Investigator & Asst Professor: Electronic

Asst Professor
Adrian Cheok has worked in real-time systems, soft computing, and embedded computing
in both Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs (Osaka, Japan) and National University
of Singapore (NUS). In NUS he has been working on research covering mixed reality,
human-computer interaction, wearable computers and smart spaces, fuzzy systems,
embedded systems, power electronics, and multi-modal recognition. He has successfully
obtained funding for four externally funded projects in the area of wearable computers
and mixed reality from the Defense Science Technology Agency Singapore. The research
output has included numerous high quality academic journal papers, research prototype
deliverables to DSTA, numerous demonstrations including to the President and Deputy
Prime Minister of Singapore, CNN / CNBC television worldwide broadcasts on his
research, and international invited new media exhibits such as Ars Electronica.
Adrian is currently an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore
where he leads a team of over 20 researchers and students. He was recently voted
the Chairman of the IEEE Singapore Section. He was an invited speaker at ACM 3d
Production 2002 Snowbird USA, invited researcher and demonstrator at Ars Electronics
Austria Europe 2002, and keynote Speaker at Asia Pacific Ubiquitous Computing
Australia 2002. He is invited to exhibit for two years in the Ars Electronica
Museum of the Future, launching in the Ars Electronica Festival 2003, and also
a permanent exhibition in Huereka Science Museum Finland. He is also the Chairman
of IEEE Singapore Section and President of ACM SIGCHI Chapter.

Mr Ian F. Chapman-Banks, Director: GSB Consulting (Hong Kong)
Previously: Brand & Channel Marketing Director: Xbox Asia, Microsoft (Asia-Pac)
Ian is director of GSB Consulting, which specialises on running consultancy work
for the gaming industry in the Asia Pacific region. He was most recently the Marketing
Director for the Home and Entertainment Division of Microsoft in Asia, and was
responsible for the recent launch of Xbox in Asia, Ian is now working on the marketing
strategy for the next phase of the Microsoft roll out of Xbox, PC games and across
these territories. Prior to Microsoft Ian was the Marketing Director for Apple
in Asia Pacific and and was instrumental in building the brand in Asia Pacific
and developing Apple's online/Internet strategy for both consumers and developers
across the region - with a major focus on the China and Korea Market.
Ian has been living and working in Asia for over ten years having lived in Beijing
and Singapore. He currently resides in Hong Kong in an incredibly small apartment.
Before moving to Asia Ian was a resident in London, New York and San Francisco.
He studied at an Undergraduate level in the UK for a BASK in Applied Science and
got his MBA in Strategy and Finance from The University of Chicago's Graduate
School of Business in the US.

Alex Goatcher is the Founder of Mikoishi Asia Pacific Pte
Ltd (Singapore),
an entertainment software company based in Singapore. The company produces cross-platform
entertainment content; primarily mass-multiplayer games and lifestyle/messaging
products for mobile networks and handsets. They collaborate with brand, operator
and media partners to produce and deploy exclusive content formats that deliver
a unique and highly compelling entertainment experience to end users. Their content
formats enable partners to build lucrative communities and derive revenue through
network game-play, game/in-game sponsorship and subscription billing models.
A former systems architect and a system performance tuning
expert, these days Alex is responsible for Mikoishi’s product vision (but still
maintains enough of an interest to annoy the development team). Born in Brighton,
England in 1971, Alex Goatcher began his career as a system architect at the European
Nuclear Research Centre (CERN) in Geneva working with Tim Burners-Lee on early
releases of HTTP. During his time at CERN, Alex saw a potential to create webs
of people and places in a more fundamental way, and started research on lifestyle
applications for early personal devices. From 92 - 99, Alex assumed key roles
in roles in Holland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, Australia,
China and the UK for organizations such as BSO Origin, Philips, Philips Medical
Systems, CEDEL Bank/Clearstream, UBS/Warburg, The European Commission, InterX,
The IT Network, The Financial Intelligence Agency , before starting his first
business in Sydney in 1999.
Prior to Mikoishi, Alex founded two companies. Inkontact - an Australian based
wireless application service provider and Moneypenny, a Hong Kong based competitive
intelligence community for the Asian capital markets.

Khai-Hwa has worked in the software industry for both the public and private sectors
in large scale system integration as well as operations support. He is based in
Singapore and heads Orange Gum Pte Ltd that sells or distributes mobile contents
and portals and in more than 7 countries in Asia-Pacific including China, Taiwan,

TWO'S KEYNOTE: Mr Loren I. Shuster Director,

Loren is Director, Games, Nokia Multimedia Business Group,
Asia Pacific. In this role, Loren is responsible for all the business development
and marketing strategies and activities relating to games. Loren joined Nokia
in 2000 to head up its music related mobile service activities and spearheaded
numerous music collaborations with key music labels, within the Digital Services
function.
Prior to joining Nokia, Loren was Vice-President, Brand Development & Research
for MTV Asia responsible for MTV’s regional research & branding, trade marketing,
licensing & merchandising and on-line business. Previous to MTV, Loren was Marketing
Director for De Beers Asia Pacific and held numerous sales and marketing positions
at Henkel KGaA. Loren is Canadian and holds a Master of Business Administration
(MBA) from the INSEAD, France and a Bachelor of Commerce (Bcomm) from McGill University,
Canada. Loren has lived and worked in Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland,
France, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ng Kian-Bee, Game Developer (Tokyo, Japan)
Kian-Bee is a game developer based in Tokyo, Japan. He has
been part of the award winning GT team since 2000. His other experience includes
anime TV/movie productions, TV commercials and direct-to-video animations where
he was involved as a Technical Director since 1997. Kian-Bee holds a degree in
computer engineering as well as an M.B.A.

Jasper is the Director/General Manager of Teckwah Online Private Limited,
a business venture by the Singapore main-board listed Teckwah Group (SGX mainboard:

professional, Jasper has helped the Teckwah group in developing, spearheading

Leo Hwa Chiang, Director - Business Development (Digital Contents): Korea

Leo Hwa-Chiang is the Marketing Director for Digital Content business in South
East Asia, reporting to the Chief Executive Director. He plays a pivotal role
in being the main marking liaison between the Korean Digital Content companies
and South East Asian Telco, content aggregators and developers. Leo's main responsibilities
include identifying South East Asian based technology companies who will benefit
by partnering Korean Digital Content companies. He will also help promote Korean
Digital Content companies by sourcing for potential partnerships and business
opportunities. As a member of the founding team, Leo was the Vice President Business
Development in Trustcopy Pte Ltd, (a spin-off from Kent Ridge Digital Labs), a
premier provider of Brand protection and secured trade documentation services.
There Leo was instrumental in growing the business of professional services and
enhancing customer satisfaction. Prior to Trustcopy Pte Ltd, Leo spent 2 years
with Kent Ridge Digital Labs as an Incubation Manager. KRDL integrates R&D in
communications and information technology to develop holistic solutions across
the ICT value chain. The Institute's research capabilities are in wireless and
optical communications, and information technology and science, Leo helped promote
the development of broadband applications. Leo holds a Master degree in Business
Administration - Management of Technology in Deakin University and a First Class
Honours in Electrical Engineering from University of New South Wales.

Dr Jimmy Tang is the Editor-in-Chief at Hardware Zone Pte Ltd and Product Manager
of GameAxis Online & Unwired. In 1996, he obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science
in Materials Engineering and subsequently a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2002. Dr Tang has presented papers in
reputed journals and was one of Singapore's pioneers and forefront experts in
the field of AFM applications on semiconductors. He joined Hardware Zone on February
1999 and has since written more than 300 technical articles, which include testing
and reviewing PC components and IT-related/consumer electronic products and is
key to identifying emerging content trends and ensures the delivery of top notch
content to the consumer and business communities.
