Ms Su Yeang, CEO: Citigate Su Yeang Design Pte Ltd

Having been actively involved in consultancy, branding and design projects for 26 years, Su Yeang is well-known and highly regarded in the design industry in Singapore and Asia. She set up Su Yeang Design in 1983 to provide a full range of integrated branding and design services in Singapore and the Asia Pacific Region. In Sept 2000, the company merged with the Incepta Group to form Citigate Su Yeang Design to become one of the largest branding companies in Asia.

By profession a graphic & industrial designer, her involvement starts from having the ability to understand from many points of view, the client's business, their objectives & their key audience, to advising & providing the best solutions to issues & problems, and leading the Team in seeing projects to completion. Her experience is diverse and extensive, covering sectors from consumer goods, manufacturing, retailing to industrial, commerce and global branding. Su aims not only to value-add but to create new values for clients, both tangible & intangible.

Su is a highly respected speaker and has represented Singapore on several occasions. Su also has a keen interest in education and is also active in community service. She is a member of the Board of Governors of Temasek Polytechnic as well as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the School of Design. She is also involved actively in several design and trade associations, either as a council or board member. These include Ministry of Education and Singapore Packaging Council. She has just been elected as the next Vice President of the International Packaging Consultants (IPC) in Geneva. Su has a Degree in Graphic & Industrial Design, Western Australian Institute of Technology (Curtin University), Australia.


Ms Chang Sook-Cheng, Managing Partner, Treetops-Ventures

Sook-Cheng is Managing Partner of Treetops-Ventures, the brand development specialist of the private equity investment based IBS Group of Companies worldwide, focused on helping Asian enterprises leapfrog into global arenas. She brings ‘hands-on’ brand rejuvenation, profit turnaround and regional market penetration experience from 20 years in FMCG/Packaged Goods, Food Manufacturing, Fastfoods, Skincare, Entertainment, Licensing, Retail, Logistics, Services, Conference Production and E-business across 12 Asia Pacific markets, as Asian Marketing Director /Manager with Unilever (UK) , Wellcome Foundation (UK) ,Danone Brands (France) , RJR Nabisco(US), Kellogg’s International (US) and Borden Foods (US), 20th Century Fox Licensing (US) etc.
In recent years, Sook-Cheng assisted Asian SME brand owners with brand repositioning and regionalisation; explored new Asian branding paradigms with European MNCs: Phillips Personal Electronics, Delifrance Asia Pacific, SHELL East Asia, ICI Asia Pac etc; facilitated brand breakthroughs with MNC marketing managers; and is developing globalisation strategies with large local and government linked companies in Asean and China. Sook-Cheng has also consulted for Internet World Asia Conference Advisory Board from 1999-2002, Marketing Institute of Singapore-APMF Marketing Summit 2000 on “New Marketing Paradigms for the New Knowledge Economy”, and Platinum Circle (CEO Roundtables and Co-operation with World Economic Forum’s New Asian Leaders’ Meetings).


Ms Satvinder K Sandhu, Director: Bluegill Communications Pte Ltd

Satvinder is an entrepreneur and a communication-oriented enthusiast. She enjoys shaping market and media perceptions through public relations and marketing communications programs. Having started out her career as an English Language teacher, she eventually pursued her need for diverse experiences by being a consultant and entrepreneur for the past nine years. Her personal philosophy is: A fantastic communication program is only as good as it looks on paper unless it delivers immediate returns of investment for the client. Her philosophy is encapsulated in her programs. Satvinder has consulted with major organizations, a start-up and industry groups focused on the technology and hospitality industry.

She is currently a Director with Bluegill Communications, a boutique public relations and marketing communications consultancy that is part of the ECCO network, one of the world’s Top 20 PR and marketing networks and the 3rd largest in Europe. Bluegill provides its services to clients and ECCO members in Singapore, Malaysia, India and Los Angeles. Bluegill adds to ECCO’s largest network of specialist affiliates worldwide that has members and affiliates in more than 60 countries in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific and employs over 650 staff worldwide. Satvinder is also the Chapter Director for WITI - a Professional Association comprised of individual and corporate members throughout the United States, in Australia, and in Europe that inspire women in and through technology and the business of technology. Satvinder speaks regularly at conferences and lectures at private educational institutions. When time permits, she teaches yoga and is an avid windsurfer and enjoys snow skiing. Ms Daljit Khangura, Co-Director, Flamingo Research Asia Pacific P L

Along with her colleague Samantha Gomez, Daljit is spearheading Flamingo’s new office in Singapore. Flamingo are a qualitative research consultancy specializing in brands and communication who, over the last three years, have extended their operations from their London base to San Francisco, and now Asia. Flamingo hopes to bring a more innovative, creative and rigorous approach to qualitative research in Asia, which emphasizes ‘development’ over ‘testing’ in order to really take brands forward. Before joining Flamingo, Daljit worked at Euromonitor Consultancy analyzing Global consumer goods markets. At Flamingo her experience spans a wide range of research, from exploratory to brand equity, positioning, brand extension and creative development, across a breadth of different categories. Daljit is a Modern Languages graduate of Cambridge University. She speaks fluent German and Punjabi as well as French and some Hindi.

Ms Samantha Gomez, Co-Director, Flamingo Research Asia Pacific P L

Samantha, like Daljit, came over to Singapore from Flamingo London to set up Flamingo’s Asia Pacific office. Her experience at Flamingo is extremely wide-ranging covering exploratory research, advertising and brand strategy and creative development across Europe, the US and Asia. Before joining Flamingo she worked at Reflexions, another UK-based research consultancy, conducting a mixture of both qualitative and quantitative research. At Reflexions her analysis involved a mixture of semiotics and computer content analysis. Part of her responsibilities at Flamingo involves ‘new thinking’; re-assessing research methodologies and providing training sessions on research to clients. Sam has a First Class degree in Modern Languages from New College, Oxford and speaks fluent French and German.


Mr Kim Chun-Wei, Founder and Chief Consultant: Ukulele Brand Consultants Pte Ltd

Kim is the founder of Ukulele Brand Consultants, a leading brand and design consultancy, with close to 200 creative awards, in UK, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore under its name. As the principal brand consultant of Ukulele, Kim has served clients in almost every major industry segment. Clients include Yeo’s, Alexandra Hospital, The Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore Exchange, Radiance Communications, Teaspa and many others.
Kim is a regular speaker on branding and design topics and is regularly involved in dialogues and roundtable discussions organised by the local design authorities and bodies.


Mr C J Neoh, General Manager: Multiactive Technology Pte Ltd

CJ is the General Manager of Multiactive Technology reporting to Frank Hung, MD Asia. He is responsible for spearheading its CRM Sales, Marketing and operations for the entire South Asia region.
CJ’s responsibilities encompass Sales, Marketing and Consulting for a very diverse group of industries spanning Multi-Nationals to small and medium enterprises. He is responsible for the successful implementation of Maximizer’s IMPACT 360, a proven project management methodology, consistent with industry best practices. Mr Neoh has been integral to the development and execution of aggressive channel Marketing programs and business partner initiatives. CJ has over 15 years of experience in the technology sector and is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences. He has held various senior management positions throughout Asia Pacific, Hong Kong and Taiwan. CJ joined Multiactive Technology in April 2002.

Prior to his current position, he was Regional Director of Western Digital. In that capacity, he was instrumental in defining, developing and implementing channel business and marketing strategies. CJ has a graduate degree in Electronic Engineering.


Mr Eugene Chang, Founder & Executive Director: Pacific Fusion International Pte Ltd

Eugene is Executive Director of Pacific-Fusion. He graduated in Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science with Latin honors cum laude and membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society (top 15% of graduating class) from Boston University. There he served in the Singapore Collegiate Society and Association for Computing Machinery as Vice President and was recognized by the BU International Students and Scholars Office for Outstanding Undergraduate Cultural Contributions at the end of his 4 year program. He obtained his professional certification as a Novell Netware Engineer before returning to Singapore in 1994 to serve in the Armed Forces. Eugene joined Hewlett Packard late in 1996 to pursue a career in Information Technology. At the end of his stay with HP, Eugene had earned opportunities to project lead software development and support teams comprising multi-national participants for worldwide Order Fulfillment applications in its Semiconductor Manufacturing business. He consistently achieved maximum ranking for the annual Performance Evaluations in each of his three years with the organization and was nominated for the prestigious STAR award for outstanding contributions to be concurred by the CEO (which he declined participation in for reasons of leaving the organization to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions).

At 27, Mr. Chang co-founded Pacific Fusion International Pte Ltd with the intention of revolutionizing the F&B scene with a modern lifestyle concept that rewards people for making healthier food choices. Today, only four three years from inception, PFI is Asia’s leading Smoothie Franchise Creation and Management Company and is proud to be working towards being an ISO 9001:2000 certified organization by May 2004. The Fuzion Smoothie Café, its flagship brand, has an international franchise network that spans Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, and the Middle East. Concurrently embracing growth through strategic partnerships, PFI has benefited from working with leading companies such as ExxonMobil, Cheers (NTUC), OSIM International and Four Leaves. It has also received invaluable support from government agencies such as IE Singapore and Spring Singapore. Eugene enjoys sharing his passion by conducting Smoothie Appreciation workshops for corporate clients, educational institutions and to the public at the annual Singapore Food Festival as well as via speaking arrangements such as The Branding Forum 2003 and the National Library Board Talk Series. Eugene also enjoys working with polytechnic, junior college and university students in completing their assignments on different facets of entrepreneurship help to develop aspiring young minds on a similar quest for challenges off the (corporate) beaten track. He is committed to improving Singapore’s SME environment and serves actively on the Singapore Chamber of Commerce (SICC) SME Group 9 committee. He is also a member of the Association of Small Medium Enterprises (ASME) and the Franchise & Licensing Association (FLA). In 2003, Eugene’s entrepreneurial qualities won him recognition as one of the honorees at the inaugural Spirit of Enterprise Award.



Ms Shauna Li Roolvink, Founder & Managing Director: BrandHub

Shauna is the founder and Managing Director of BrandHub, a brand consultancy dedicated to creating and building Leader Brands in Asia. She has over 10 years of experience in brand strategy, business strategy, market research, customer experience, and marketing strategy and planning in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to setting up BrandHub, Shauna was the lead brand strategies for the re-branding of Singapore Inc., a project she took on as a freelance consultant at another brand consultancy. As an Associate Director of Brand Strategy at Interbrand, Shauna founded and managed the first Brand Strategy practice in Asia. She created the Brand Strategy Blueprint for many leading Asian brands including Osim, StarHub, and Brand’s. She also worked with multinational clients such as Motorola, DuPont, and GM in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. Shauna honed her strategy development capabilities at A.T. Kearney where she managed diverse strategy engagements for clients such as GM, Deere, ARCO, Chugai Pharmaceutical, and Pacific Dunlop throughout the Asia Pacific region.

She started her career as an Account Executive at Leo Burnett. Her clients included Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris, United Airlines, Chase, and HP. Shauna is the creator and author of the Brand Leadership Matrix™ - a framework to analyze brand lifecycle and investment strategies. She contributes brand related articles regularly to The Edge Magazine as well as other leading business and marketing journals in Asia. She is also a frequent speaker at branding and marketing conferences. She obtained her MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and a BS in Business Administration from USC.



Ms Alice Manners: Director, m digital, Mindshare Singapore

Alice is Director of m digital, MindShare's specialist interactive media unit, & the largest interactive media specialist in Singapore. With clients as varied as IBM, Siemens or Lufthansa, m digital are well experienced in working with large traditional advertisers, from a wide range of industries, and helping them to strategically & creatively integrate online campaign elements into the overall media mix. Alice draws on many years of experience in traditional and interactive communications and prior to m digital was media director at the full service agency, Organic. There she was responsible for overseeing and directing the marketing and media services operations. Over the course of her career, Alice's experience has ranged from working for one of the largest independent media organisations in Australia, where some of her clients included the Australian Federal Government and Volkswagen Asia Pacific, to working with the local Singapore Interactive agency, The Edge Matrix.

Alice had previously served as Head of the New Media sub-committee at 4As (Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Singapore). She helped establish this sub committee aimed at keeping its member agencies up to date with the rapidly changing world of technology and its impact on advertising. Founded in 1948, 4As represents agencies, suppliers and practitioners in this vibrant centre of creativity in Asia.



Mr Greg Paull, Partner: R3 Asia Pacific

Greg has 18 years close to 20 years agency experience, most of it in the Asian region, with brand experience on Nokia, Audi, HP, Microsoft and American Express. Most recently, he was Asia Pacific head of the Interpublic agency, DraftWorldwide. In the last three years, Greg has evaluated close to 100 agencies across the region for partnership and acquisitions. Greg is currently a principal at R3 Asia Pacific, the Asian arm of a global consulting group that has offices and support staff in Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Malaysia and works throughout the region through local partners. R3 has ongoing alliance with the leading business and marketing magazines in the region to provide content on Agency Rankings, New Business Performance locally and regionally, and other ongoing issues affecting agency compensation.



Mr Lawrence Chong, Chief Executive Officer:
ACIVAR Brand Consultants

Lawrence is the Principal Founder and CEO of Acivar Brand Consultants. Acivar specializes in helping Asian firms in implementing business strategies and brand positioning. By focusing on the medium and small Asian enterprises (SMAEs), Acivar is able to better at understanding these firms’ needs. Lawrence loves the challenge of nurturing; helping companies to grow in the competitive business environment, and seeing them outshine the market leaders. His passion is to assist visionary leaders in the region to build large Institutional Brands. Therefore, a lot of his time is spent on giving seminars and providing workshops on how small Asian businesses can tap into their latent potential and join the ranks of the outstanding brands.

Currently, Lawrence is holding a one-year term as the chairperson of the Future Brand Delivery Group, an R&D community that gathers professionals from the IT, Business Management, HR and Customer Relation sectors. The group constantly reviews & provides analysis on how complementary technologies can be used to effectively help Asian brands grow exponentially. Lawrence is also the EXCO member of the Designers Association of Singapore DAS, which is actively involved with the various ministries and government agencies such as MITA, SPRING, IE Singapore and EDB in enhancing and promoting the value of branding and design to the local industries in Singapore.
