ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

DAY ONE KEYNOTE: Mr Kim Chun-Wei, Founder & Chief Consultant: Ukulele Brand Consultants Pte Ltd (Singapore)
Founder of Ukulele, Kim brings with him 15 years of experience in brand development and communications. Ukulele Brand Consultants is one of the leading brand and identity consultancies in Singapore. Since its inception in 1993, it has now a team of 24 consultants, strategists and creative designers. It has served clients in almost every major industry segment, and they include Singapore Exchange, The Pan Pacific Hotel, IBM Asia Pacific, Iomega Pacific, YEO's and Cathay Organisation, amongst others. As of 2004, Ukulele has won major accolades and close to 200 international awards in the US, Hong Kong, UK and Singapore. Many of the works have been displayed in forums, publications, creative showcase and museums locally and overseas. Over the years, Kim has conducted many internal brand and culturalization workshops with organisations involving top and senior management, and given counsel on a wide range of brand-related issues. An Executive Committee and Founder Member of Marketing Council Asia, Kim is a regular contributor to major branding and marketing forums. He was also tasked by ASME to judge in the Singapore Promising Brand Awards 2004. During his free time, Kim travels, writes songs, and plays the ukulele with his son.

DAY ONE SPEAKER: Mr Huw Hopkin, Managing Director: Ground8 (Singapore)
Huw is Managing Director, Ground8 an independent CRM consultancy and project management group. Current Ground8 clients include Cisco Systems and Levi Strauss to whom Ground8 offers strategic CRM and Loyalty consulting, also other Direct marketing agencies who require data mining and customer analytics expertise, which Ground8 can offer. Huw has participated in CRM and Loyalty program strategy development for many multi-nationals in UK and Asia. Before founding Ground8, his experience ranged from CRM infrastructure implementation to one to one marketing communication, including customer data mining and analysis. Huw's former loyalty program and CRM clients include BMW, BT Cellnet now O2, Caltex Thanks, IBM, Sony and Tesco Clubcard. He is a full member of the Institute of Direct Marketing and holds a diploma in Direct Marketing. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Direct Marketing Association of Singapore. He is also a frequent speaker at marketing conferences.

DAY ONE SPEAKER: Mr Ian McKee, Managing Director: Vocanic Pte Ltd (Singapore)
Ian brings broad range of experience to Vocanic, from working with Sun Microsystems pre-IPO, to data warehousing with Oracle and Enterprise Application Integration with Viewlocity where increasing the velocity of information flow was the goal. Ian also started and ran an incubator (AsiaPathways) bringing four US and European software businesses to Asia, including one he was Managing Director for, in the field of Balanced Scorecard. Prior to Vocanic, Ian was for the last 4 years MD for Informative Asia Pacific, the leader in the field of Customer Dialogue Marketing Solutions. Having worked in Europe and US, Ian has been in Singapore 7 years and now calls it home. Ian read a double honours degree at Birmingham University in the UK in Production Engineering and Economics.

DAY ONE SPEAKER: Ms Charlene Chong, Founder & Managing Director: The Grotto Pte Ltd (Singapore)
Charlene received her Bachelor of Arts (Social Science & Public Relations) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia, in 1997. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), Australia. The estimated completion date is 3rd Quarter 2004. Prior to founding The Grotto Pte Ltd, Charlene was a Senior Conflict Analyst with New York-based law firm, White & Case LLP. She was responsible for the creation and operation of the Singapore Conflicts & Information Services Department (CIS). She also created and managed the department’s Knowledge Management System – CIS KnowledgeBase. A fervent believer in the value of proper and effective use of organisational knowledge and the harnessing of Competitive Intelligence, Charlene conducted a study on the need for Competitive Intelligence for White & Case - Singapore. The study provided a basis and implementation plan for a Competitive Intelligence System. Prior to White & Case, Charlene spent over 3 years with National Computer Systems Pte Ltd (NCS) in Singapore. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, as well as the Management Committee, she was responsible for providing Competitive Intelligence and Corporate Planning support to senior management. She created and operated the NCS Corporate Library that served over 2000 NCS staff, and was an active member of the task force that was instrumental in the Knowledge Management and Competitive Intelligence initiatives in NCS. The Grotto was founded on the belief that the wine industry will be much better served with clear methodology for innovation and the proper harnessing of knowledge and actionable competitive intelligence. Ms Chong’s role in The Grotto is largely focused on guiding the strategic directions of The Grotto, and in helping clients with a clear strategy for success in their businesses.

Justyn Olby has been living in Singapore for the past 12 years. He is a journalist and photographer working for a wide range of local and international publications, including the Business Times, Project Eyeball, AsiaOne, Silver Kris, CHiP magazine CNET Networks Inc. He is currently Academic Associate at the Centre of Culture & Communications in Republic Polytechnic (Singapore).

DAY TWO KEYNOTE: Mr Martin Roll, CEO: VentureRepublic Pte Ltd (Singapore)

Martin is founder and CEO of VentureRepublic, the leading strategic advisory firm on Branding ExcellenceTM to corporate boards and top-management in multiple industries across Asia Pacific and Europe. He delivers the combined value of an experienced international branding strategist, a senior advisor to boards and management teams and an internationally renowned speaker and sought-after workshop host. He brings more than 15 years of experience from the international advertising industry, and has served in various management positions, focusing especially on global marketing and branding strategy; brand/ product advertising; and corporate communications. He is author of two forthcoming leadership books on branding to be published globally by Palgrave Macmillan: Asian branding (September 2005) and Brand strategy (March 2006). Martin Roll is Visiting Professor in Strategic Brand Management at the China European International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai recently ranked the top Executive Education in Asia by Financial Times. Martin Roll is represented as an international speaker and workshop host by three of the leading speaker bureaus in the world: Washington Speakers Bureau (US), Celebrity Speakers CSA (London) and Saxton Bureau (Australia and New Zealand). He contributes leadership opinion articles on marketing and branding issues to several international publications and is a frequent guest lecturer at INSEAD and other business schools. Martin Roll holds an MBA from INSEAD in France, a bachelor degree from The Copenhagen Business School and a diploma from The International Advertising Association (IAA). Martin Roll is a Danish Citizen and Singapore Permanent Resident.

DAY TWO SPEAKER: Mr Constant Tong, Founder & Managing Director: Airvert (Singapore) Pte Ltd (Singapore)

Constant is a founder and Managing Director of Singapore-based Mobile media solutions company – Airvert Singapore Pte Ltd. He has been actively involved in the mobile technologies and content industry for the past 5 years. He has implemented various SMS/MMS campaigns, branded mobile games (Singapore Idols, Kung Fu Hustle), SMS TV platforms for TV stations (Singapore, Thailand) and many other mobile-related projects. A veteran in the mobile content industry, Constant is also a Director of S-Concept Wireless (www.sconceptwireless.com) – a regional mobile content distribution company that help content provider distributes their content globally (with strong focus on China market). Prior to his current positions, he also worked with Mobile React, EdgeMatrix, Abacus International and Singapore Airlines. Constant has a BSC (Computer Science) degree from National University of Singapore.

DAY 2 WORKSHOP LEADER: Ms Shauna Li Roolvink, Founder & Managing Director: BrandHub Pte Ltd (Singapore)

Shauna is founder and Managing Director of BrandHub, a brand consultancy dedicated to creating and building Leader Brands in Asia. She has over 10 years of experience in brand strategy, business strategy, market research, customer experience, and marketing strategy and planning in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to setting up BrandHub, Shauna was the lead brand strategies for the re-branding of Singapore Inc., a project she took on as a freelance consultant at another brand consultancy. As Associate Director of Brand Strategy at Interbrand, Shauna founded and managed the first Brand Strategy practice in Asia. She created the Brand Strategy Blueprint for many leading Asian brands including Osim, StarHub and Brand's and also worked with multinational clients like Motorola, DuPont, GM in Greater China and the Asia-Pac region. Shauna honed her strategy development capabilities at A.T. Kearney where she managed diverse strategy engagements for clients such as GM, Deere, ARCO, Chugai Pharmaceutical and Pacific Dunlop throughout Asia Pacific. She started her career as an Account Executive at Leo Burnett with clients including P&G, Philip Morris, United Airlines, Chase and HP. Shauna is the creator and author of Brand Leadership Matrix™ - a framework to analyze brand lifecycle and investment strategies. She contributes brand related articles regularly to The Edge Magazine as well as other leading business and marketing journals in Asia. She is also a frequent speaker at branding and marketing conferences. She obtained her MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and a BS in Business Administration from USC.
